PERSONAL PROFILE

Twenty five years in professional practice as an architect and planner has provided Mr. Bond with a wide variety of experiences.His career has offered him opportunities to work on large projects and small.He has been involved in both public and private developments, and he has worked for some of the most prestigious firms in the country.Following are the disciplines that Mr. Bond has been exposed to during his career.

ARCHITECTURAL: Commercial capabilities include shopping centers, health care facilities, medical clinics, retirement and resort communities, office buildings and recreation facilities.Residential capabilities range from the 1,000 square foot tract house, through cluster housing, attached housing and various other forms of multi-family housing.

URBAN PLANNING: Mr. Bond was involved in many planning activities during his eight years of employment with the Knoxville-Knox County Metropolitan Planning Commission, and has continued to be involved in planning as a private practitioner.Mr. Bond has been responsible for over 400 public presentations before citizens groups, zoning boards, and elected officials.

MASTER PLANNING: Perhaps his strongest talent is his ability to analyze complex sets of data relating to mixed uses or planned communities, and organize the information into a logical "master plan" for development. His experiences in both the public and private sectors have given him an understanding of each perspective.As a result, he is particularly adept at working through the review and approval process, including the negotiations that are typically required by real estate development.

LAND PLANNING:Mr. Bond has an extensive background in land planning, providing conceptual design services to the early stages of real estate projects.He is accustomed to working with a wide variety of professionals including; engineers, public officials, bankers, realtors, landscape architects and other design professionals.He frequently coordinates these design disciplines in what is referred to as the "team approach".

EDUCATION/TRANSPORTATION PLANNING: Mr. Bond has worked with State Commissioners of Education and Transportation, local transportation officials and numerous citizens groups in efforts to; identify locations for new education facilities, routes for new highways, define appropriate land uses for surrounding properties, configure turning lanes, curb cuts and other physical features, and present findings to property owners.

ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING: Mr. Bond was awarded a research assistance by the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Planning to conduct research in "remote sensing" as it relates to environmental planning.The assistance afforded him the opportunity to become familiar with Hasselblad camera equipment; dark room techniques, densitometers and other sophisticated equipment employed in aerial remote sensing of air and water pollution.

HISTORICAL PLANNING: Mr. Bond has been involved in a number of historical planning projects.In each instance, the effort was directed toward the preservation of those buildings, structures and historic districts, without compromising the contemporary needs of the surrounding community.

PLANNING

Mr. Bond has had direct responsibility for the implementation and management of a wide variety of projects involving the following tasks:

MARKET AND FINANCIAL STUDIES

Projects, whether public or private, do not happen unless, and until, they are financed.Mr. Bond has become particularly adept at producing and analyzing both market feasibility studies and financial proforma.

PROGRAMMING

Mr. Bond prefers to be involved in projects during the early stages of the programming process.Frequently, his input has saved clients and employers money and valuable time.His involvement may require the review of preliminary boundary and topographic maps in order to determine development densities.Or it may require the identification of infrastructure, environmental limitations, site opportunities and/or public issues. Documentation of these parameters is the first step toward a successful project.

MASTER PLANNING

Master Planning involves the drafting and publication of text and graphic descriptions of projects including; site plans, project cost, income proforma and spread sheets, development time tables, organization charts and resource allocations.

In addition to traditional architectural graphics and drafting techniques associated with producing Master Plans, Mr. Bond is particularly adept at written communications.He has been involved in the preparation of numerous planning documents describing the full extent of proposed development projects.

LAND PLANNING

Market evaluation, zoning review, financial planning and coordination of design disciplines are only a few of the functions that must be addressed as a part of the land planning process.A successful land plan can only be developed with respect to each of these concerns.Mr. Bond has represented numerous clients in the regulatory and planning review process.Typically projects begin as a rezoning.Depending upon the size and scope of the projects, he may assist in more extensive planning efforts such as; site plan approval, planned development approval processes, developments of regional impact (DRI), or other such regulatory procedures.

Many of Mr. Bond's multi-family projects have been developed in the State of Florida.Florida is recognized as having some of the most stringent regulations on development.He has worked closely with numerous local planning and building officials, officials of the DOT, DER, and water management districts.He has a working knowledge of Developments of Regional Impact, Concurrency, the Standard Building Code, South Florida Building Code, International Building Code-2000, Life Safety Codes, and numerous other codes and regulations relating to the health, safety and welfare of the general public.

TRANSPORTATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING

Transportation and Environmental reports are very much a part of the public planning domain.As a result, Mr. Bond was exposed to a wide variety of matters relating to each.Typically, the work requires exposure to public servants and elected officials at the highest levels of the governing bodies.Mr. Bond has grown accustomed to these associations and has learned to be effective in these dealings.

ARCHITECTURE

SCHEMATIC DESIGN

Free-hand sketch design concepts are a skill developed by Mr. Bond during his architectural education, and refined during his years of professional practice. Schematic Design is that free-hand process of communications between the designer and client that results in an idea or "concept".Frequently, a sketch is required to clarify a thought, or suggest a solution to an unresolved problem.Mr. Bond's ability to produce such sketches is a marketing tool that has resulted in the closing of many business deals.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Design Development is that step in the process when the free hand sketches produced in the Schematic Design are first hard-lined or entered into the computer.During this step, structures, mechanical systems and other construction details are resolved.Mr. Bond has worked closely with structural, mechanical, plumbing engineers, landscape architects, interior designers and other professionals in many conferences in which design development issues were addressed and resolved.

CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS

Construction Documents are the way of communicating to the building officials, construction trades and lenders what is to be built.Mr. Bond prides himself in his ability to manage the production staff toward the production of clear and concise construction documents.

Construction Documents produced by Metrotec were produced the old fashion way--they were hand drawn.CD's produced by The Architectural Group were both hand drawn and produced using a Hewlett Packard Cadd system.Mr. Bond was directly responsible for day to day management of the on-site terminal in Tampa, and the network linkage to the terminals in Charlotte.The Martin Organization maintained a bank of twenty five terminals within the corporate offices.Therefore, all computer drafting was delegated to Philadelphia.The Bond Organization maintained several CADD stations that was responsible for the production of approximately 25% of the construction documents.Centex Homes is 100% cadd oriented.

As a result of these combined experiences, Mr. Bond has a thorough understanding of traditional and computer aided drafting techniques, and is proficient in Autodadd and Softplan software programs.The key to effective and profitable production of construction documents is the understanding of which to use when.

CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION

Construction Administration includes; permitting, management of the bid process, awarding of bids, construction kick-off meetings, site visits, processing change orders, punch-lists, bank certifications and many other details relating to getting projects built.Mr. Bond has been involved in the construction management process of most of the architectural projects with which he has been involved.

DESIGN COORDINATION

Typically, numerous professionals, municipalities and vendors are involved in the decisions relating to the design of project components.Mr. Bond feels comfortable serving as either participant or team leader as decisions are made that may relate to issues such as; water and waste water management, transportation and environmental engineering, landscape architecture, site graphics and lighting, entry signs and monuments, project logos, project stationery, interior design and color selections.

ADMINISTRATION & MANAGEMENT

STAFF MANAGEMENT

Mr. Bond has been in a position of direct administrative and management responsibility for; Centex Homes, The Bond Organization, The Martin Organization, The Architectural Group, and Metrotec/Bond & Associates for a sum total of twenty five years. During this time period, he has touched essentially every aspect of office management and administration.

Centex Homes is a publicly traded corporation with five regional offices and divisions in most major cities in the United States. .The Mid-Atlantic Region extends from South Carolina to New Jersey to Tennessee.

As Director of Architecture for the Mid-Atlantic Region, Mr. Bond was the primary driver of the architectural and planning process for many new communities.

The Bond Organization was a sole proprietorship established as a Subchapter S Corporation.Mr. Bond was the sole stockholder of the company.The company was closed upon joining Centex Homes.

The Martin Organization is the twenty sixth largest architectural and planning firm in the United States.Mr. Bond served as Vice President and Regional Manager, and as such, directed all aspects of the Southeastern Division offices located in Atlanta.

Reg Narmour/The Architectural Group is headquartered in Charlotte, N.C.Mr. Bond served as Vice President and Regional Director for the Florida Division offices located in Tampa.Mr. Bond's responsibilities entailed the management of a staff of 18 people.

Metrotec was a partnership between Mr. Bond, Mr. Darcy Sullivan, Mr. Phillip Lynn, Mr. Joe Fortunato, and Mr. Pinkney Hester.Mr. Bond served as President of the partnership; as well as owner of all office furniture, fixtures and equipment.

FINANCIAL RECORDS

Financial records for The Bond Organization were initially maintained utilizing a software system published by Harper Schuman, Inc.The system included; project file maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and tracking of profit and losses on each individual project.The system proved to be cumbersome, and was later changed to a combination of Quicken and Quick Books software.

Data for financial records for The Martin Organization were produced under Mr. Bond's direct supervision in the Atlanta office and forwarded to Philadelphia.The corporate offices cut all checks for accounts payable and payroll.Receivables were typically collected in Atlanta and forwarded to Philadelphia.

Data for financial records for The Architectural Group were produced under Mr. Bond's direct supervision in the Tampa office and forwarded to Charlotte.The corporate offices cut all checks for accounts payable and payroll.Receivables were typically collected in Charlotte.

EMPLOYEE MANUAL

Mr. Bond has developed an Employee Manual that has served him well in his employee relations. Drug related problems, charges of sexual harassment and other such issues have caused employers and managers to be every wary of potential problems relating to the employment of staff.The Employee Manual has been produced in an effort to anticipate these problems, and establish a policy for the legal and ethical management of each should it occur.

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS

Mr. Bond is certified by the National Council of Architectural Licensing Boards, and is currently licensed to practice architecture in;

Tennessee, Virginia, New Jersey, South Carolina, North Carolina, Washington D.C.

Mr. Bond has held registrations in the following states in years past.The registrations were allowed to lapse as projects were completed.They can be reactivated by NCARB reciprocity.

Mr. Bond has gained substantial experience in public presentations.These experiences have included numerous public presentations representing the public sector as well as the private sector.Presentations have been as low key as a meeting with a group of concerned residents in someone's living room, to day-long, live television broadcasts of community-wide planning events

Mr. Bond clearly understands the importance of sales and marketing for the design firm, has invested a substantial amount of his time and energies in these pursuits.He has experienced the emotional ups and downs of cold calls, and the intense levels of attention required during the fee and contract negotiations process.He works best in a team environment in which various staff members assume specific roles in sales and marketing.

MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS

Over the course of the years, Mr. Bond has created a marketing system which is maintained on a daily basis.The system is based on a Word computer software system.Names, addresses, telephone numbers and other pertinent information are filed on over 3,000 individuals in the development industry.The system allows Mr. Bond to track active individuals, record conversation data, sort and merge the information for marketing or public relations purposes as needed.

EXPERT WITNESS TESTIMONY

Mr. Bond has testified as an expert witness in lawsuits relating to annexation issues, adoption of zoning ordinances, traffic accidents, civil suits, and numerous lawsuits relating to construction.

OTHER SKILL SETS

OFFICE AUTOMATION & COMPUTER SKILLS

Office automation when Mr. Bond first began practice involved the purchase of an IBM Correcting Selectric Typewriter.Today, the process includes a thorough understanding of; computers, FAX machines, FEDEX mailings, modems, copy machines with sort capabilities, blue line printers, and a myriad of other miscellaneous pieces of equipment intended to make the workplace more efficient.

Mr. Bond is fluent in Autocadd versions 14 and 3.0, Softplan 10 & 11, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Project, WordPerfect, Quatro Pro, Corel Draw, Printshop, Quicken and Quick Books.
AVIATION

Mr. Bond is a private pilot with over 800 hours of flight time in single engine, powered aircraft.He is an accomplished sailplane pilot and has owned a Cessna 172 Skyhawk.Currently, he owns Beechcraft Skipper N60199.During the 1982 World's Fair, Mr. Bond operated a company called "Skylights". Skylights flew advertising messages over the World's Fair site and surrounding community. The advertisements were displayed on a computer controlled message sign suspended beneath the wing of the Skyhawk.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Mr. Bond owns a Minolta Maxxium 3000I system.He is experienced in all aspects of 35mm photography as well as 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" format photography with Hasselblad equipment.He has had hands on experience with darkroom equipment.
