SCHEMATIC DESIGN Free-hand sketch design concepts are a skill developed by Mr. Bond during his architectural education, and refined during his years of professional practice. Schematic Design is that free-hand process of communications between the designer and client that results in an idea or "concept". Frequently, a sketch is required to clarify a thought, or suggest a solution to an unresolved problem. Mr. Bond's ability to produce such sketches is a marketing tool that has resulted in the closing of many business deals. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT Design Development is that step in the process when the free hand sketches produced in the Schematic Design are first hard-lined or entered into the computer. During this step, structures, mechanical systems and other construction details are resolved. Mr. Bond has worked closely with structural, mechanical, plumbing engineers, landscape architects, interior designers and other professionals in many conferences in which design development issues were addressed and resolved. CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS Construction Documents are the way of communicating to the building officials, construction trades and lenders what is to be built. Mr. Bond prides himself in his ability to manage the production staff toward the production of clear and concise construction documents. Construction Documents produced by Metrotec were produced the old fashion way--they were hand drawn. CD's produced by The Architectural Group were both hand drawn and produced using a Hewlett Packard Cadd system. Mr. Bond was directly responsible for day to day management of the on-site terminal in As a result of these combined experiences, Mr. Bond has a thorough understanding of traditional and computer aided drafting techniques, and is proficient in Autodadd and Softplan software programs. The key to effective and profitable production of construction documents is the understanding of which to use when. CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION Construction Administration includes; permitting, management of the bid process, awarding of bids, construction kick-off meetings, site visits, processing change orders, punch-lists, bank certifications and many other details relating to getting projects built. Mr. Bond has been involved in the construction management process of most of the architectural projects with which he has been involved. DESIGN COORDINATION Typically, numerous professionals, municipalities and vendors are involved in the decisions relating to the design of project components. Mr. Bond feels comfortable serving as either participant or team leader as decisions are made that may relate to issues such as; water and waste water management, transportation and environmental engineering, landscape architecture, site graphics and lighting, entry signs and monuments, project logos, project stationery, interior design and color selections.
